Christmas Hampers 2026

We want to make a meaningful difference in our community this year. The reality is, many people in Blenheim and the surrounding area will be struggling to afford Christmas this year. As a community that cares for our neighbours, we have an opportunity to help in a very practical way.

The Christmas Hamper Project has been an annual effort led by volunteers and churches in Blenheim for decades. On December 10 & 11 we will be distributing over 200 hampers of food and toys to individuals and families.

What’s in a hamper? Hampers are made up of: milk, bread, eggs, crackers, pancake mix, syrup, Kraft Dinner, cereal, granola bars, cookies, soup, pasta, pasta sauce, beans, canned meat, canned vegetables, potatoes, carrots, onions, ham, margarine, apples, and sweet potatoes ($90-120 value). A hamper also includes pj’s and toys, specific to the kids receiving them.

Leading up to Christmas, we’re looking for the community to pitch in and help make a difference! This year, the main items we are collecting are toys for kids of all ages. The food portion for this year’s hampers will be purchased locally in bulk with financial donations from our community. Toys can be dropped off at local drop-off sites: Giant Tiger, The Health Hub, Canadian Tire, A Taste of Home, Glad Tidings Community Church, Libro, Kimberley’s Hearing Clinic, The Senior’s Center, and more to come.

Join in this year’s Christmas Hamper Project and see how you can make a difference this Christmas!
